Critic & score
Pinotage
The result of a crossing between Hermitage and Pinot noir as developed by Abraham Izak Perold, former professor of viticulture at Stellenbosch University South Africa. This cultivar produces unique and easily distinguishable red wines but can also develop unpleasant spray-paint like characteristics when the grapes are grown under stressful conditions and intensified when the fermentation temperatures are allowed to rise too quickly. Pinotage is described as being a grape (and wine) of many moods. Browse our Pinotage wine selection online and order the right wine for you.
