Petit Verdot
A bold, full bodied red wine with its origins in South-Western France. It is known for its plentiful colour, sharp acid, high tannin and ethereal violet, plum aromas. Owing to its robust profile this wine is rarely produced as a single varietal rather being added as a component to Bordeaux style blends. Growing Petit Verdot in the places such as California and Washington State has proven successful in overcoming ripening difficulties experienced by this troublesome cultivar in the Northern wine-making regions.
