Jean Engelbrecht along with his friends Dillie Malherbe and Jannie Durand set out to create a wine that would not only embody all that is Stellenbosch but that would also pay homage to this great town at the heart of the Cape winelands. Each wine in this range pays tribute to an historical landmark in Stellenbosch.
Description
A polished, medium- to full-bodied red blend with an elegant, classical profile. The nose shows ripe red and dark berry fruit, with notes of cherry and plum layered with cedar, gentle spice and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is balanced and composed, offering fine tannins, integrated oak and a savoury, persistent finish that emphasises structure over overt power.
Food Pairing
Well suited to roast meats, grilled beef, lamb and hearty stews. The wine’s balanced tannin structure also pairs well with tomato-based dishes and semi-hard to hard cheeses.
