Tomatin

Tomatin Distillery, nestled in the Scottish Highlands near Inverness, boasts a long and storied history since its establishment in 1897. It faced a series of operational challenges and changes, including a closure and subsequent reopening in the early 20th century, and major expansions during the 1950s and 1970s. The distillery experienced significant financial difficulties in the mid-1980s, leading to its acquisition by Japanese firms, which marked a turning point as it became the first Scottish distillery under Japanese control. Since then, Tomatin has shifted its focus from bulk production to crafting a broader range of single malts and introduced its peated line, Cù Bòcan​.
