The Landscape Series Cabernet Franc

Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, beef fillet or slow-roasted pork, complemented by rosemary, thyme and rich pan sauces. Also lovely with roasted root vegetables, mushroom dishes or mature hard cheeses.

The 20-year-old vineyard is situated on a rocky mountainside site on the Gabriëlskloof property. The soil combines Overberg Shale and Table Mountain Sandstone.

The wine went into barrel (30% new oak) and spent about 14 months in barrel before bottling.

The fruit was hand-picked into small crates and transferred directly into our cold room, where it remained overnight. All fruit was destemmed. The wine was fermented naturally without the addition of any yeasts. Daily pump-overs were done until fermentation stopped, and the pressing took place two weeks after that.
