Premium Natural Sweet Red

Refreshing when drunk over ice or chilled, this wine is a generous accompaniment to rich food styles.

Vineyards were selected from granite soils that provide fresh fruit to the wine and shale soils that contribute to the structure and fruitiness, resulting in a balanced and rounded mouthfeel.The vineyards are planted on North to North-west facing slopes which is exposed to optimal sunshine during the day, but low temperatures during the night which is important for colour intensity and stability in red wine.

The wines went to stainless tanks for partial malolactic fermentation that contribute to the creaminess on the palate and blended after 6 months on the lees.

The grapes were harvested early in the morning, followed by destemming and cold soaking for 24 hours. Regular pump-overs during fermentation extracted all the fruit and intense red colour from the skins. A portion of the wine was racked from the skins before the fermentation was completed and the rest was left on the skins for 7 days.
