From Swartland vineyards planted in 1981 on shale soils, with R99 rootstock and a yield of 3.7 tonnes per hectare. Grapes were hand-picked early in the morning into picking crates at 21-22 degrees Balling.

Eight to ten months on fine lees in older 500-litre French oak barrels before bottling.

Whole-bunch pressing was followed by natural overnight settling in stainless steel, with no additions before fermentation. Fermentation took place naturally in older 500-litre French oak barrels. The wine was then racked and returned to barrel for maturation.
