Juno is always prepared for her next winemaking adventure, clutching succulent grapes in her right hand and sharpened secateurs in her left. This is the reason each bottle is imbued with a distinctive radiance, which is indicative of the Cape’s Vineyards and the enthusiasm with which Juno approaches her work. The outcome? A collection of wines that are fruit-forward, diverse, and opulent, with inspired winemaking as the core ingredient of every bottle. It is most enjoyable when accompanied by Mediterranean cuisine and shared with friends. Our Juno Wine collection encompasses a diverse selection of white, red, and rosé wines, and is available in 750ml glass bottles, and 250ml cans. Juno cans provide a variety of benefits, including its lightweight and resilient packaging, as well as its sustainability and convenience for all wine enthusiasts.
Description
This wine presents a dense ruby colour with subtle purple hues around the edge. Beautifully layered aromas of purple and black fruits are derived from the Shiraz component, such as blueberry, blackberry and plum. The Mourvèdre adds some earthy undertones, black olive paste and leather, while the addition of Viognier, though minimal, adds a delicate floral nuance and stone fruits. The palate is a full-bodied experience, delivering a seamless balance between powerful fruit flavours and structured tannins. A burst of ripe plum, cassis, and black cherry is beautifully layered with hints of dark chocolate, star anise, a touch of black pepper and game meats. The velvety texture leads to a long and satisfying finish, with lingering spice and berry compote nuances.
Food Pairing
The depth and complexity of this wine make it an excellent companion for grilled meats and hearty roasts, like ribeye steak or roasted leg of lamb. Its bold character will stand up to rich, slow-cooked dishes like beef bourguignon or Moroccan lamb tagine. It will also pair well with venison, duck confit, robust cheeses like aged gouda, cheddar or blue cheese, and a charcuterie platter with cured meats, such as prosciutto, salami, and chorizo. For dessert, pair with a dark chocolate torte or a berry compote, served over vanilla ice cream or panna cotta.
