Vermentino

Vermentino is a warm climate varietal, quintessentially Meditterranean in nature. This is a light bodied white wine which is grown on the island of Sardinia and in Liguria. It is similar in complexity to Sauvignon blanc and not widely available. There is a subtle bitterness on the finish and pronounced flavours of peach, lime, pear and grapefruit. Always dry and slightly oily this wine is both textured and tasty. This wine goes very well with garlic and richly herbed and spiced dishes.
