Kanonkop
The name Kanonkop was derived from a kopje (hillock) from which a cannon was fired in the 17th Century to alert farmers in outlying areas that sailing ships plying the waters between Europe and the Far East had entered Table Bay for a stopover at Cape Town.
Description
The 2024 Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage Rosé is a full-bodied, dry rosé with a delicate pale-pink hue. It presents an upfront, perfumed nose of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and rosewater. The palate displays intense notes of red apples, melon, nectarine, raspberries, and candied cherries. Bright, fresh acidity and a long finish make it a refreshing aperitif and a satisfying food pairing wine.
Food Pairing
Ideal when served chilled between 8–10°C, it pairs well with grilled salmon and tuna, sushi, peri-peri prawns, salads, quiche, and roast chicken.
