Kanonkop
The name Kanonkop was derived from a kopje (hillock) from which a cannon was fired in the 17th Century to alert farmers in outlying areas that sailing ships plying the waters between Europe and the Far East had entered Table Bay for a stopover at Cape Town.
Description
This wine presents an opaque blue-red color with a deep, complex, and perfumed nose featuring black plums, vanilla, cherries, dried red rose petals, and dark chocolate. The intense palate is rich with dark fruits, cedarwood, baking spices, a hint of smoke, and charcuterie. It is a substantial wine with well-balanced acidity and grippy yet velvety tannins, offering a truly enjoyable drinking experience.
