Hasher Family Estate is a family-owned farm in South Africa’s sought after Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Founded by the Herten-Haspeslagh family, the farm represents the coming together of centuries of European farming heritage with a lifelong passion for Africa. Run by a young and passionate team, the farm proudly produces exceptional wines that celebrate the cool maritime climate and unique soil the area has become known for.
Description
The 2024 Ernest Pinot Noir opens with wild strawberry, mulberry, and sour cherry, layered with distinctive fynbos aromas, coastal kelp, and Earl Grey tea. A flintiness reminiscent of struck matchbox emerges alongside caraway seed and cedarwood spice, adding complexity. On the palate, silky tannins and vibrant acidity frame a more generous expression of fruit, with savoury undertones and spice carrying through to a beautifully long, refined finish. A Pinot Noir of excellent balance.
