The 2020 vintage offered a welcome break from a prolonged drought in the Cape, with wet but healthy growing conditions. Picking started about two weeks earlier than in previous years, and cool conditions during harvest made for fresh, crisp wines.

Naturally fermented and aged 18 months in older French barrique.

Following careful hand-picked, bunches were destemmed and transferred to fermentation tanks using a gravity system, allowing for whole berry fermentation.

Gabriëlskloof produces fine wines that reflect our own terroir's complexity, richness, and diversity, together with some irresistible old vine treasures along the way. As a result, our wines are elegant and complex yet accessible and enjoyable. We are a family-owned and run winery with sustainability, conservation, and community at the heart of our approach.
