Oxalis Syrah

Slow-roasted lamb, grilled beef or smoky vegetable dishes.

Fruit comes from three Gabriëlskloof blocks at around 150m above sea level, all planted in 2003. Half the blend comes from a transition zone between shale and sandstone, with the remaining half from two sandstone blocks. The wet 2024 winter and spring drove vigorous growth, while difficult flowering conditions reduced yields.

Matured for 12 months in 500L French oak barrels, all second- and third-fill.

50% whole bunch fermentation in small vessels with one punch-down per day, followed by post-fermentation maceration before pressing.
