A daring new venture initiated in 2009 by Art Dealer Alexandre Cornot, Visionaire entrepreneur and passionate Champagne lover who revived a brand that disappeared in the 1800s.
At the heart of this project, is the desire to craft a Champagne of Joyful Elegance: sophisticated and driven by free spirit, while honouring the legacy and Art of savoir-vivre heralded for three centuries. Its spirit pays a sparkling homage to the ‘Années folles’ (crazy years) of the early 18th century under the French Regency period.
The House has established itself in the village of Aÿ, cradle of Champagne - refurbishing a historic industrial building designed by Gustave Eiffel as their beautiful home.
Breathing character and high standard into the Cuvees skilfully crafted by François Huré - Chef Oenologist, a master in the art of blending and recently recognized as a Top 100 Master winemaker in 2023 by Drinks Business.
Their first cuvees were released to the market in 2014 following long ageing, and have ravished the markets and critics alike since.
While the Boutique house doesn't own vineyards on its own, it has dedicated its style to a signature of freshness and finesse, primarily driven by gentler expression of Chardonnay.
The dominant Chardonnays, are characterised by their fine bubbles and their floral notes, made from the finest vintages of the Sézanais and the Côte des Blancs. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier stem from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley to combine structure and complexity. All their Champagne is aged for a minimum time of four years to reach a delicate balance and ravishing expression.
In a nod to a sparkling artistic spirit, a noble Giraffe decorates their gift boxes, standing tall for their values of Originality, Tradition and Conviviality – and as they advise, because ‘the Giraffe doesn’t drink alone’.
