Van Loggerenberg Wines
Lukas Van Loggerenberg is a true Afrikaner born of the Breedekloof wine valley and a man of incredible charm. He now makes his wines in the Devon Valley sourcing most of his fruit from Stellenbosch with important parcels coming from Paarl and Swartland. His wines are ones of generosity and depth but retain an incredible and residing finesse. Take his Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc for example they are inspired by a region close to his heart - the Loire Valley. While emulating certain traits of elegance and liner restraint he does not strive to produce replicas of these wines but rather to produce the best possible South African wines he can.
Description
The 2022 “Trust Your Gut” Chenin Blanc reveals a refined, energy-driven profile. On the nose, it offers delicate waxed‑lemon, pressed florals, and flint, evolving into dried honey, passion fruit, yellow plums, and a hint of resin. The palate is delivered with sappy intensity and stony minerality, showing pear, pineapple, waxed lemon, and a taut, pithy finish that is both saline and compelling.
