Tempranillo
Tempranillo is Spains noble grape. Thought to have first been brought to Spain by the Phonecians, there is evidence of wine being made from this cultivar as early as 800 BC. Tempranillo often has contrasting flavours of leather and cherries with a smooth finish. Produced most famously in Rioja where it is aged in French or American barrels to create wines with great ageing potential. Also known in some areas of Spain as Tinto Fino.
