Khakibos White Blend

Pairs well with shellfish, particularly freshly shucked oysters. also pairs well with spicy Asian dishes.

Our Verdelho is grown in koffieklip-rich soil found anchored on the foot slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. Our Chenin blanc is located in our exceptional Paarl vineyard, Alvarinho on gravel in Wellington & our old vine Palomino is grown in Piekenierskloof sandstone, & Fernão Pires is from the gravelly soils located along the Breede River.

The wine was allowed to mature on lees for 10 months prior to blending & bottling, unfiltered.

The grapes were delicately whole bunch pressed & naturally fermented 2nd fill and older French oak barrels, only the free run juice was used.

Thistle and Weed is a collaboration between the Terblanche and Wiid families established in 2015, led by Etienne Terblanche (Viticulturist) and Stephanie Wiid (Winemaker). Inspired by the encroaching weeds found amongst the vines grown in the Cape, Etienne and Steph draw parallels between thistles and weeds and the uncompromising tenacity and survival skills of grapevines. Together, they set out to discover the best of the Cape’s hidden gems, intent on crafting honest wines that are made with a deep connection to nature and offer the most simple expression of the terroir from which they come.
