Lievland
Lievland’s history dates back to 1715, when the original farm was granted to the ex-soldier Jurie Hanekom. Lievland lies on the western slopes of the Simonsberg mountains between Stellenbosch and Paarl, two of the most prominent wine-growing areas in the Cape. The climate, location, and soil on the slopes are conducive to the cultivation of high-quality grapes, and some of the Cape’s best-known wines are made here. Lievland is all about "the here and now", and their wines are made in a generous fruit-forward, well-extracted style.
Description
The Lievland Old Vine Chenin Blanc is made from 2 certified heritage vineyards; planted in 1985 and 1987. This aromatic and intensely fruity wine is a stunning showcase of the versatility of Chenin Blanc. Colour: Light straw with a golden hue. Aromas: White peach, citrus and pineapple. Palate: Peach, citrus, apricot and a compelling minerality. Body: Rich, ripe, with balanced acidity.
Food Pairing
This Chenin can easily be enjoyed on its own, but can also complement dishes such as smoked pork, Cape Malay bobotie, or creamy seafood.
