Lievland
Lievland’s history dates back to 1715, when the original farm was granted to the ex-soldier Jurie Hanekom. Lievland lies on the western slopes of the Simonsberg mountains between Stellenbosch and Paarl, two of the most prominent wine-growing areas in the Cape. The climate, location, and soil on the slopes are conducive to the cultivation of high-quality grapes, and some of the Cape’s best-known wines are made here. Lievland is all about "the here and now", and their wines are made in a generous fruit-forward, well-extracted style.
Description
The Lievland Sauvignon Blanc is made from vineyards in the Elgin Valley on the Cape South Coast. With its proximity to the ocean, the cool-climate region provides optimal growing conditions for Sauvignon Blanc. Colour: Pale straw with a light green tinge. Aroma: Tropical bouquet, grapefruit and passionfruit. Palate: Passion fruit, pineapple and lime. Body: Crisp, well-integrated acidity balanced by a rich, full structure and rounded mouthfeel.
Food Pairing
This Chenin can easily be enjoyed on its own, but can also complement dishes such as smoked pork, Cape Malay bobotie, or creamy seafood.
