Dirty Little Secret Six

Shellfish, Spicy food, Lean fish, Mild and soft cheese

Made from grapes sourced from a very old dryland vineyard in the Piekenierskloof region planted in 1959. The main objective was to let this interesting fruit source speak for itself and show its typicity and specific character, ancient bush vines with a great view! The result? A tribute to the age and concentration of the vines, the low yield and the non-intrusive way of creating this wine.

This wine has been handled as gently as possible. It is unfiltered, unfined - crafted to age and gain complexity in the bottle.

In 1993 hospitality industry veteran Ken Forrester and his wife Teresa purchased the historic Scholtzenhof estate nestled at the base of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch. Originally established in 1689 as Zandberg the property is one of the oldest wine farms in the Cape. Ken enlisted the help of his winemaker friend Martin Meinert in replanting and revitalizing the vineyards with an aim to craft a white wine that could rival any in the world! And so it was that Ken Forrester Vineyards was established with a focus on Chenin Blanc production.
