Kanonkop
The name Kanonkop was derived from a kopje (hillock) from which a cannon was fired in the 17th Century to alert farmers in outlying areas that sailing ships plying the waters between Europe and the Far East had entered Table Bay for a stopover at Cape Town.
Description
Deep crimson-red in colour, the nose reveals aromas of raspberries, dark cherries, black plums, cinnamon, and allspice. On the palate, it’s supple and elegant, showcasing juicy red and black fruit flavours with a hint of chocolate and fresh acidity. The tannins are refined, creating a smooth yet lingering finish weighted toward fruit and spice.
