Description
Elegant, persistent and complex. Swartland Chenin wears its heart on its sleeve with rich, yellow fruit and a delicate perfume of lemongrass, citrus blossom and warm pastry. Given all the generous fruit the sun coaxed into the wine, the palate awards you with tangy acidity and a creamy texture seasoned with a salty, mouthwatering rim. Fuller-toned flavours of caramelised loquat aromas add a profound depth as the wine evolves, balancing the subtle and fresh salinity.
Food Pairing
Keep it simple to bring the best out in this wine and pair it with Octopus carpaccio. The octopus' oceanic saltiness and texture will complement the fruit-forward nature of this wine. Easy on the lemon, as this might temper an already Bmid acidity. Be bold with using rocket, rosemary, and a dash of sundried tomato oil as an added savory component.
