Domaine Michel Bouzereau
The Bouzereau family has been living in Meursault for seven generations to cultivate vines there. Over the years and thanks to his work, Michel enlarged the vineyard inherited from his father. Jean-Baptiste, his son, joined him on the estate twenty years later: he learned the trade at his side for ten years and together they acquired some prestigious plots. In 1999, Michel left it to Jean-Baptiste to manage the family property of 10.5 hectares with the same passion. In 2008, always keen to improve the quality of the wines, he decided to build a new structure and, since the 2009 harvest, the entire farm is located at 5, rue Robert Thénard, still in the center of the village of Meursault.
Description
Bottle sample. "Discreet wood frames more deeply pitched aromas of black currant, poached plum and warm earth. There is more volume and power to the slightly bigger flavors that terminate in a robust if slightly drying finish. The underlying tannins do seem ripe so I suspect that the dryness is related to the recent bottling and thus should dissipate with a few months of aging. This is also the case with the Les Aussy below, which would seem to confirm that the bottling is responsible. Drink 2025+." AM
Food Pairing
Pairs well with quail stuffed with morels, beef tenderloin with mushrooms.
