Chardonnay Unoaked

This unoaked Chardonnay pairs well with light dishes, including seafood, poultry, and vegetarian fare, as well as dishes with fresh herbs and citrus.

Produced in the Franschhoek Valley, the vineyards benefit from cool mountain breezes and decomposed granite soils, which support the crisp acidity and mineral tones of the wine.

The Chardonnay blocks are hand harvested separately at optimal ripeness at 22.5B – 23B. At the cellar the grapes are whole bunched pressed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks. The wine is kept on the lees for 4 months.

Chamonix is a Franschhoek wine estate set against the Mont Rochelle mountain, with vineyards planted to classic French varieties and shaped by cool breezes and stony clay-rich soils.
