Alvi’s Drift is a third-generation, family-owned winery in South Africa’s Breede River Valley. Named after the bridge connecting the farm, our 410-hectare estate lies in the cool-climate Scherpenheuvel ward, where diverse soils shape our award-winning wines. From crisp whites to elegant reds, MCCs, and sparkling wines, each bottle reflects a love for craft and terroir. Description
Pale-straw coloured with shimmering brightness and a youthful, lime-green edge, this delightfully complex wine boasts aromas of lemongrass, ripe lemon-and lime, with hints of butterscotch. The palate is silkysmooth with a rounded creaminess; restraining acidity and notes of citrus, subtly supported by integrated oak which follows through to linger on the palate.
Food Pairing
Serve this wine with grilled, lightly spiced chicken and duck, grilled fish with lemonbutter or hollandaise sauce, or a classic beurre blanc sauce using this wine as an ingredient. Enjoy with soft, ripe Brie or Camembert cheese, hard cheeses like Grana Padano or South Africa’s classic.
