Alvi’s Drift is a third-generation, family-owned winery in South Africa’s Breede River Valley. Named after the bridge connecting the farm, our 410-hectare estate lies in the cool-climate Scherpenheuvel ward, where diverse soils shape our award-winning wines. From crisp whites to elegant reds, MCCs, and sparkling wines, each bottle reflects a love for craft and terroir. Led by winemaker Alvi van der Merwe, we blend tradition with innovation—doing more than expected, because we’re doing what we love.
Description
Pale, leaf-gold in colour with a lime green-edge, this wine boasts forthcoming aromas of lemon curd, with hints of vanilla and buttery tropical notes of pineapple and melon. Elegant and creamy on the palate, the fruit follows through with a delectably lingering, lemon-cream aftertaste. Boasting a beautiful balance between fruit, acids, and gentle tannins, this wine will mature well for up to eight years.
Food Pairing
Serve this wine with a seafood bisque, or enjoy with brie on a French baguette, served with fresh pear or apple. This wooded Chardonnay will also complement roast pork served with applesauce, or a butter chicken dish. Serve between 10-12 ËšC.
