The palate combines firm, high-key fruit with a gentle, sandy texture true to the source vineyards’ soil leading to a savoury, lightly honeyed finish. This is a deeply satisfying wine made from a blend of high quality bush vine fruit.

This rosé is a fine, lightly savoury wine with real depth. The older oak wraps this dry, mineral wine in a delicate creamy veil ultimately leaving a bright, structured, and fine finish.

It’s important that this wine is enjoyed at cellar temperature. It’s a blend that ultimately surprised us in its components of 90% Syrah, 10% Cab Franc from two sites in Franschhoek. The nose of fresh crushed raspberries veiled with white and black pepper is hypnotic and sensual, especially for our climate. The palate has breadth and natural juiciness which is complimented by cranberry and peppercorn flavours.

With notes of freshly cracked black pepper, allspice and raspberry, the varietal notes of each cultivar blend seamlessly in this exotic, aromatic Coastal Region compote.

Wildeberg’s rationale is to source the finest vineyards available to us across Franschhoek and the Coastal Region, from which cuvées the eyes are plucked to make Wildeberg and the Terroir Series releases. In doing so there remains a small yet definitive expression of all the vineyards we worked with, and its these cuvees that are again selected to go into Coterie by Wildeberg. All fruit is hand harvested in February from selected sites in Franschhoek and Paarl.
