Description
The Vergelegen V 2022 presents a classic Stellenbosch expression with impressive depth and refinement. Aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and dark cherry are layered with subtle cedarwood and graphite nuances. On the palate, the wine shows concentrated black fruit, firm yet polished tannins, and a vibrant acidity that adds freshness and structure. The finish is long and savoury, with notes of spice and fine-grained oak integrated seamlessly. This vintage reflects excellent extract and colour, true to its cool, late-ripening conditions.
Food Pairing
Ideal with roasted lamb shank, succulent rib-eye steak, or a hearty hunter’s stew. Rich, slow-cooked game dishes also pair beautifully.
