Chardonnay Reserve

Pairs well with grilled fish, creamy pasta dishes, roasted chicken, or seafood.

Sourced from various vineyards across the Vergelegen estate, including areas with granitic and alluvial soils. The Schaapenberg vineyard brings a linear, mineral quality, while other vineyards contribute more floral and aromatic elements.

This Chardonnay is drinking beautifully in its youth but will improve with bottle aging for several years.

The grapes are hand-harvested, with most undergoing whole-bunch pressing. Fermentation occurs in barrels using both spontaneous and inoculated methods, followed by partial malolactic fermentation and occasional lees stirring (batonage). The wine is aged for 10 months in a variety of barrel types, sizes, and toasting levels before blending and bottling.
