Aromatic and complex, this Sauvignon Blanc boasts herbaceous tomato leaves, persimmon, and litchi on the nose. A rich but fresh palate with oyster shell minerality and a hint of lime, finishing with notes of asparagus and capsicum. A beautifully balanced wine, showcasing the unique character of the Agulhas region.

The Winter of 2022 was quite normal. Spring was good for us with less rain and wind in Oktober and November. This created optimal conditions during the flowering season, the result, a decent harvest of 3.8 ton/ha on these 20-year-old vines. Rain in December created high risk conditions for Downer mildew and with all the follow up rain in February we had our hands full to keep infection under control. Our Sauvignon grapes loved the cool weather in February, and we could pick ripe with high pyrazine levels. The Sauvignon grapes were picked inn two batches, one week apart between 22 and 23 balling at the end of February.

Its unique terroir of coastal conditions and diverse soils gives the wines their distinctive character. Inspired by early explorers, the vineyards were established in 2001 by pioneers drawn to this rugged, promising landscape.
