Saronsberg
Saronsberg’s winemaking officially began on 25 January 2004 with the pressing of our first Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Saronsberg originally formed part of the iconic and historical Twee Jonge Gezellen and consists of two parts formerly known as Waveren and Welgegund (also referred to by locals as ‘Die Erf’) the latter lying on the western slope of Saronsberg the mountain after which the farm was named and which spectacularly dominates the view from the cellar.
Description
This Viognier exhibits a light straw color. On the nose, it presents aromas of honey, pear, apricot, and delicate floral notes. The palate is rich and silky, featuring subtle spice and yellow fruit flavors, complemented by light oak and culminating in a balanced, fresh finish.
Food Pairing
This Viognier pairs well with a variety of dishes, including rich fish dishes with creamy sauces, light poultry, and Asian cuisine such as curries, sushi, and spicy sauces. It also complements mild and hard cheeses.
