Viognier

This Viognier pairs well with a variety of dishes, including rich fish dishes with creamy sauces, light poultry, and Asian cuisine such as curries, sushi, and spicy sauces. It also complements mild and hard cheeses. ​

The grapes for this wine are sourced from Saronsberg's estate vineyards in Tulbagh. The region's unique terroir, characterized by diverse soil types and a Mediterranean climate, contributes to the development of concentrated flavors and balanced acidity in the fruit.​

The Saronsberg Viognier 2022 is aged for 11 months in oak barrels, which imparts subtle spice and enhances the wine's structure while maintaining its fresh and delicate flavors. ​

After careful hand-harvesting, the grapes undergo gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs in a combination of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels to enhance complexity. The wine is then matured on the lees for several months, with regular stirring to develop a rich texture and depth of flavor.​
