Il Piccolo is a blend of 80% Syrah, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, carefully selected and hand harvested. This particular vintage contains some of the grapes normally used in the domaine's top wines, Vignolo and Vigna Grande, providing a rare depth, character and quality.

The wine is fermented on cement and matured in old Pomerol casks for 9 months, resulting in a medium-bodied wine with rich nuances of dark berries and herbs as well as a refreshing coolness. It is known for its freshness and excellent fruit flavors, subtly enhanced by the French oak barrels.

Montecarrubo is a boutique winery located on the remains of an ancient volcanic crater in Sicily, Italy. The estate was founded in 2005 by Peter Vinding-Diers, a renowned Danish winemaker, and his wife Susie.
