Miles Mossop
Miles Mossop Wines burst onto the scene in 2004 when the first wines were made: Max 2004 and Saskia 2004. Max is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Petit Verdot and more recently Malbec and Saskia a blend of Chenin blanc Viognier and more recently Clairette blanche. Later in 2009 a third wine was introduced the Kika 2009 a botrytised wine made in the Noble Late Harvest style from 100% Chenin blanc.
Description
Colour: This wine displays a brilliant deep straw colour. Nose: Fragrant lemongrass, cassis leaf and passionfruit aromas emanate from the glass underpinned by hints of dry straw and notes of fresh brioche. Palate: There is a great intensity on the entry of the palate with flavours of quince jelly, guava and lemongrass on the mid-palate with hints of toasted almonds and a velvety creaminess. This all leads to a textured pithy finish with a stunning length and a freshness reminiscent of oyster shell.
Food Pairing
This wine is a perfect accompaniment to fresh oysters, grilled fish and chicken dishes.
