Miles Mossop Wines burst onto the scene in 2004 when the first wines were made: Max 2004 and Saskia 2004. Max is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Petit Verdot and more recently Malbec and Saskia a blend of Chenin blanc Viognier and more recently Clairette blanche. Later in 2009 a third wine was introduced the Kika 2009 a botrytised wine made in the Noble Late Harvest style from 100% Chenin blanc.
Description
Colour: This wine displays a brilliant light-yellow straw colour. Nose: Aromas of white stone fruit, quince and citrus fruits emanate from the glass. There are hints of citrus blossom, crushed almonds and orange peel which are evident. Palate: There is a great intensity on the entry of the palate with citrus and greengage flavours. Notes of quince and grapefruit are on the mid-palate leading to a fantastic richness and hints of toasted almonds on the finish. There is a fantastic pithy texture towards the end with a stunning acidity which lingers.
Food Pairing
This wine is a perfect accompaniment to fresh oysters, grilled fish and chicken dishes.
