Mascota Vineyards
Rodolfo Sadler took his first steps at making wine 27 years ago. His decision to become a winemaker was partly influenced by the family's winemaking tradition and their passion for wine. As a little boy he used to see his grandfather and father engaged in their winemaking tasks and always wished he could one day make his own wines of which to feel proud. The wines of Mascota Vineyards are the outcome of that dream. They have Rodolfo’s (”Opi”) personal imprint and are a testimony of his life story and the demonstration that when passion and enthusiasm are poured into what one does dreams will know no boundaries and international recognition will follow.
Description
The nose is welcoming with red, black plum and vanilla aromas. The opening palate is inviting and powerful. Roundly tannic, full-bodied and delightfully alcoholic, the structure is well balanced with plum, blackberry and cracked peppercorn spice. The Gran Mascota Malbec mid-palate remains upbeat with refreshing acidity, a velvety viscosity and refined hints of strawberry vanilla cola. Towards the close, one can detect an abundance of ripe blackberry, blueberry, crushed violet and damp forest floor. The finish is lengthy with some resounding notes of black cherry.
Food Pairing
Meat is obviously a must: Argentine “lechon asado” (roasted pork), spicy flank steak or peppercorn encrusted filet mignon are equally great pairing options.
