The slope of the Steinberg faces south to south-west, with the GOLDEN BECHER in the centre. It consists of sandy to clayey loam and stony-gritty slate soils. The wall around the Steinberg protectsthe site from the infiltration of cold air from the Taunus mountain ranges.

Our 100%-owned vineyards as well as other vineyards have a worldwide reputation and offer the ideal ground for demanding vines. On an area of almost 230 ha, of which 33 ha alone are located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Middle Rhine Valley, the grapes grown result in about 2.3 million bottles of wine and sparkling wine per year.
