Germany

Primarily produced in the West of Germany along the Rhine and its tributaries, roughly 1.2 billion bottles of German wine is produced from about 102,000 hectares of vineyard. White wine accounts for almost two thirds of this production. The country is probably most well known for aromatic, fruity and elegant Rieslings which range from crisp and dry to well balanced and sweet. All with lean- focused flavours and heightened acidity. Spätburgunder, the local name for Pinot noir, is arguably the country's most well regarded red. Other Germanic cultivars are Müller-Thurgau and Silvaner. We invite you to sample your way through our selection of German Wines online and see what you prefer.
