Prospector Syrah

This Syrah pairs exceptionally well with dry-aged Chalmar ribeye, game, and duck Magret, complementing the wine's spicy and fruity profile.

The grapes are sourced from west-facing vineyards overlooking Cape Town and Table Mountain, situated on decomposed granite soils (Hutton and Glenrosa soil forms). These 35-year-old vines benefit from the unique terroir, contributing to the wine's distinctive character.

The wine was matured for 16 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and structure.

Harvested between March 4th and April 4th, 2022, at an average of 24.4° Balling, the grapes underwent fermentation at temperatures between 26-28°C. Gentle pressing was employed to retain the intensity of the spicy fruit flavors.
