Description
Summer Elgin 2022 is less upfront than its Stellenbosch counterpart and a tad more austere. Still, it shares a notable vibrancy with a limy gloss reminiscent of an old-world Sauvignon Blanc. The wine has an earthy tone of sweet basil, bell pepper, fennel, and thyme with an intense core of ripe citrus. A fine thread of white pepper, smoke and neroli adds depth, introducing this wine as a superb dinner companion. Sauvignon Blanc lovers will fall in love with this wine's purity, balance, and concentration; truly memorable with characteristics of green apricot, grapefruit, kiwi, and a bitter-sweet note of baked limes and lime cordial adding a whimsical balance. A textured mouthfeel shapes the wine with an orange-pith astringency and a structural acidity adding length and finesse.
