The grapes originate from a single vineyard, the prestigious Karibib Vineyards & Wine Craft, in the desirable Polkadraai hills of coastal Stellenbosch. The 29-year-old vines grow on high quartzite granitic soils at an altitude of 220m and farmed impeccably by Jozua Joubert under the philosophy of working as closely with nature as possible.

After 13 months of maturation wines were racked for the first time, filtered gently, and bottled.

The grapes were hand-picked and cooled overnight down to 4C. Grapes were then sorted and transferred to a concrete fermenter, 90% being destemmed, the rest added as intact whole clusters to encourage a small fraction of a carbonic maceration.
