The nose bursts forth with primary aromatics of raspberry, crushed strawberries, and an enticing bass note of liquorice and whole bunch derived herbal spice. The palate is juicy with a supple and elegant tannin presence (always characteristic of Pinotage). A core of bright red fruit coated in a creamy body carries through on the palate, backed up by a fine acidity. The longer maturation in barrel allows the natural processes of evolution to occur, creating a softer, rounder tannin structure and palate presence, and introducing tertiary notes like mushroom and forest floor.

Fynbos Suid Wines

Our mission is to shape your fine dining experience through South Africa's exceptional heritage viticulture. We are - in every sense - deeply rooted in the natural diversity and beauty of South Africa. We express this philosophy with our name and our designs, to enjoy the richness and colourfulness of South African dining culture in your home. Fynbos (Afrikaans pronounced Feyn-bos) is a heathland vegetation and only occurs in the coastal and mountainous regions of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces. In this floral kingdom grow the conspicuous Protea (known as sugarbush) – the proud national flower of South Africa with its 112 distinct species. ‘Suid’ (Afrikaans pronounced ‘seyd’) translates to South. Fynbos Suid – the Flower of the South. We only work with local manufacturers in South Africa. Your choice directly supports small- and medium-sized businesses in the greater Cape Town region.
