Situated in the coveted Côte de Nuits-Villages, this wine is crafted from select Pinot Noir grapes meticulously sourced from the southern municipalities like Corgoloin and Comblanchien. The vineyards, basking in southeastern sunlight, benefit from limestone-rich soils that impart a distinctive minerality to the wine. This perfect terroir fosters the growth of grapes that perfectly encapsulate the essence of Burgundy.

Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 14 months in oak barrels, with 20% being new oak to add subtle spice without overshadowing the fruit.

With a focus on minimal intervention and precision, the winemaking process begins with hand-harvested grapes that are carefully destemmed to preserve the fruit’s intrinsic character. The fermentation employs gentle techniques like punching down (pigeage) and pumping over (remontage) to encourage a pure expression of the Pinot Noir.

Founded in 1893, Edouard Delaunay is an old House with a rich and singular history that contributed significantly to the development of Burgundy throughout the 20th century. It was bought at the end of 2017 by the founder's great-grandson, Laurent Delaunay, an oenologist and wine entrepreneur, with the aim of restoring its position among the great names of Burgundy. Starting with the 2017 vintage, Maison Edouard Delaunay offers a selection of around thirty vintages concentrated on the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, ranging from regional appellations to Grands Crus.
