Edouard Delaunay
Founded in 1893, Edouard Delaunay is an old House with a rich and singular history that contributed significantly to the development of Burgundy throughout the 20th century. It was bought at the end of 2017 by the founder's great-grandson, Laurent Delaunay, an oenologist and wine entrepreneur, with the aim of restoring its position among the great names of Burgundy. Starting with the 2017 vintage, Maison Edouard Delaunay offers a selection of around thirty vintages concentrated on the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, ranging from regional appellations to Grands Crus. Precise, subtle, well-balanced wines, without excess, for the most demanding wine lovers and enthusiasts throughout the world.
Description
Gorgeous red colour. The nose is expressive, fresh and crisp with aromas of cherry and redcurrant jelly followed by notes of baked goods (blueberry tart and marzipan). Remarkably fresh, round start to the palate with good balance. Lovely structure that boasts good length and very well-integrated subtle nuances of oak and spices (cumin) from the barrel ageing. This magnificent example of the typicity of Pinot Noir boasts great complexity and freshness.
