The Riesling-Estate »Dr. Hermann« with more than 9 hectares of vineyards is managed by Rudi Hermann and his son Christian. Winegrowing has been a tradition in the Hermann family for several hundred years. The present estate was created in 1967 when the renowned estate Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben in Ürzig was divided for inheritance reasons. Christian's grandfather the medical Dr. Hermann founded his own wine estate with his share of the vineyards.
Description
Lush and fruity, with red peach, apricot and baked apple flavors, accented by plenty of honeyed notes. The long and supple finish has plenty of creamy details, revealing hints of pastry and slate.
Food Pairing
Great with foie gras or blue cheeses such as Stilton, Roquefort, Bleu d´Auvergne or Gorgonzola.
