Donkiesbaai on the West Coast of South Africa has been the vacation home to the Engelbrecht family for four generations. The grapes for this wine come from the small region of Piekenierskloof. The complexity of this wine comes from the unique Piekenierskloof climate which allows us to produce an elegant yet approachable wine.
Description
Perfumed aromas of pomegranate and cranberry combine with spicy pink peppercorn and paprika. On the palate, bright and juicy red fruit follow through, with added complexity from notes of clay pot and tobacco. Light bodied and fresh, with structure provided by zippy, sour cherry acidity and spicy character from the whole bunch fermentation.
