Banghoek Reserve Chardonnay

The grapes underwent extensive sorting and were whole-bunch pressed. Fermentation occurred in French oak barrels (40% new), followed by maturation for 10 months. To retain freshness, no malolactic fermentation or batonage was employed​.

The grapes for this Chardonnay were handpicked from Delaire Graff Estate’s mountain vineyards in Banghoek, Stellenbosch. The harvest took place over different ripening periods, selecting grapes based on optimal flavor and sugar concentration. This vineyard benefits from cool maritime influences and steep slopes, enhancing the acidity and structure​.

Matured for 10 months in 225-liter French oak barrels (40% new). This aging process adds depth and subtle oak character to the wine without overpowering its freshness​.
