Deetlefs Wine Estate, situated in the picturesque Breedekloof (Rawsonville), is the second oldest wine estate in South Africa under ownership of the same family, established in 1822 and celebrated 200 years of existence in 2022. Age old family traditions passed through the generations and an intimate knowledge of every facet of this estate can be experienced in our handcrafted, classic styled wines.
Description
Intense red colour with a scarlet rim. It has an abundance of black cherry, plum, black currant and raspberry aromas with a hint of spice and dried herbs. The palate is smooth on entry with good structure and weight on the middle palate. Good balance between fruit and oak with lingering cherry, dried cranberry and herbs on the finish.
