Only 300-liter barrels were used during the 18-month maturation. Combination of French, American and Hungarian oak was used to add extra complexity to this blend.

Varietals harvested, fermented and matured separately. Each component was picked at optimal ripeness. Meticulous extraction procedure was implemented for optimal fruit extraction and balance of tannins.

Deetlefs Wine Estate, situated in the picturesque Breedekloof (Rawsonville), is the second oldest wine estate in South Africa under ownership of the same family, established in 1822 and celebrated 200 years of existence in 2022.
