Deetlefs Wine Estate, situated in the picturesque Breedekloof (Rawsonville), is the second oldest wine estate in South Africa under ownership of the same family, established in 1822 and celebrated 200 years of existence in 2022. Age old family traditions passed through the generations and an intimate knowledge of every facet of this estate can be experienced in our handcrafted, classic styled wines.
Description
A Dark Ruby Color. Smooth on entry with dark fruit; diving into notes of blueberries, black cherries, (lavender), violets, and spice aromas with hints of black pepper and vanilla. A Wine that is very enticing with soft smooth tannins. A full rich flavoured wine, with an elegant lingering finish. Some may also pick up a savoury edge.

The perfect food wine that will age with grace. This wine is suited to most red meat and game dishes. Mushroom and truffle pasta, mature cheeses
