de Venoge
Henri-Marc emigrated from his native Canton of Vaud to Champagne and created "de Venoge & Cie" in 1837 with his son Joseph. The Cordon Bleu is adopted as the symbol of the House, in reference to the Venoge river and to the order of the Holy Spirit, the most famous order of chivalry of the French monarchy. From 1838, Henri-Marc was responsible for a veritable “marketing” revolution by creating the very first illustrated label in the history of Champagne! The House's wines are now distributed in more than 40 countries only through the selective network: specialist stores, hotels and large restaurants. Our Cellar Master imposes high quality standards for their elaboration: supplies in the best crus, low dosages, the use of only the first press and long aging times. The Maison de Venoge also has a real treasure: one of the richest wine libraries in Champagne.
Description
This is a new cuvee, made to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the coronation of King Louis XV of France. It comes in a special black bottle with a zinc medal on the neck. It looks like the ancient bottle that was used at the coronation. It shows a full body with plenty of red apple, caramel, cloves and nutmeg character. Very fine bubbles. Flavorful finish. Made from 65% 2018 and 35% of reserve 2013, 2014 and 2015. Pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay, all by a third. Disgorged in March 2022. Three and a half years on the lees. 5g/L dosage.
