Ex Oppido Uitsig Rosé

Light salads, light pasta and rice dishes, especially with seafood.

The Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet franc are grown in the Constantia Valley, with a Mediterranean climate with cool sea breezes from False Bay during the growing season. Soils are alluvial decomposed granite from the slopes of Table Mountain. The soils are deep, well drained, and have a high reflection rate.

After fermentation the wine spends a short time on the lees before the different components were blended, filtered, and bottled.

This wine consists of a blend between grapes that were harvested slightly green, full ripe and juice that were drawn off from our Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet franc fermenting juices.

Constantia Uitsig is a historic Constantia wine estate focused on a small, considered range of South African wines. Rooted in one of the Cape’s oldest wine regions, the estate produces wines shaped by cool coastal influence, classic varieties and a clear sense of place.
